At that time, the Zajecar initiative, having in mind that traditional forms of addressing young people (tribunes, lectures, public advocacy through traditional media and leaflets) became less efficient, decided that the platform for messages would be a music compilation. The approach of addressing through music, street art, social networks and concert activities are much closer and more interesting to young people. In this way, young people could hear songs from the compilation that clearly and unequivocally oppose all forms of violence, discrimination and intolerance, as well as see a mural in the city center that calls for respect for diversity, as a basic principle for a better and more developed society.
13 performers applied for the competition and after recording songs, post-production and publishing on the Internet, but also in the form of a free physical release (CD), a promotional concert of the Young Against Fascism compilation was held in front of about 300 people in one of the halls of the former Crystal factory.
The compilation and all activities were realized in cooperation with the informal group City Children, Jazas Youth, and supported by NED (National Endownment for Democracy).
